Gloria Guadalupe Lozano, a 92 year-old Benavides, Texas native, passed away Monday, July 12th, 2022, in George West, Texas. Gloria was born to Estefanita and Francisco Lozano Sr. on May 6th, 1930, in Benavides, TX.
Gloria was a distinguished, dedicated, and hard-working women who owned and managed the well known El Conquistador Restaurant in Corpus Christi, TX. She was very involved in political activities and was the Chairman of Pct. 98 in Corpus Christi, TX for 35 years. While in high school, she was voted Most Beautiful, was a cheerleader, and was Drum Major.
Gloria was always very generous and ready to help, guide, and assist anyone in need.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Estefanita Lozano Sr.; and her siblings, Amadeo Lozano, Baldemar Lozano, Corando Lozano, Dionicio Lozano, Francisco Lozano Jr, Jesus Lozano, Benita Lopez, Consuelo Lozano, Estefanita Lozano, and Nicolasa Vela
Gloria is survived by her daughters, Belinda (Cliff) Garza and Brenda (Joe) Galvan; sister, Connie Gutierrez; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, July 15, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Trevino Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St., Alice, TX; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 10:30 AM followed by Funeral Liturgy of the Word. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 11:45 AM for Rite of Committal and Interment at New Collins Cemetery.
