Henry F. Uribe Sr. entered eternal life on Thursday, May 31, 2022. He was born July 16, 1948, to his parents, Olivia Benavides and Alberto Uribe Sr., in Alice, Texas.
Henry was all about his family and always checked to see if they were in need of anything. He enjoyed baseball, listening to music, dancing, making barbeque, family gatherings, and camping. Henry was known for his finger-licking fried chicken.
Henry provided for his family throughout the years as he worked for Dresser-Atlas Weiners and Alice ISD Transportation Department as a trainer and driver. Most recently, he was employed with the Premont ISD as a supervisor and bus driver. The children on his bus routes referred to him as “Grandpa Henry” as he lovingly cared for them.
Henry is preceded in death by his father, Alberto Uribe Sr.; mother, Olivia Benavides; maternal grandparents, Antonio and Refugia “Cuca” Flores; in-laws, Guadalupe and Sabas Aguilar; aunts, Lupita (Cidonio) Cantu, Ester (Hector) Garcia, and Elfida Garza; uncle, Gilbert Rodriguez; brothers in-law, Alfredo and Erasmo Aguilar and Rodolfo “Rudy” Ramon; and sister-in-law, Lorenza Hatch.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Georgia Uribe; sons, Henry (Crissy) Uribe Jr. and Marco (Hope) Uribe; daughters, Margo Lisa (Enrique) Garcia, Marisela Gaitan, and Georgia (Luis) Saenz; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include Henry’s brothers, Rene (Laura) Benavides Jr. and Alberto (Dinayra) Uribe Jr.; sister, Norma Ramon; aunt, Eva Rodriguez; uncle, Humberto Garza; and sisters-in-law, Emma (Deacon Armando) Botello, Lupita (Gabriel) Estrada, Viola (Joaquin Diaz) Arreguin, and Alma Aguilar, ; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Henry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. His faith and trust in God were deep and he was proud to have lived his Crusillo.
The family wishes to extend their most heart-felt gratitude to all who offered prayers, masses, food, and acts of kindness. May God bless you all for being with us when we most needed comfort.
