Israel Montalvo, Jr., a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas, on August 13, 2023. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Israel Montalvo, Sr. and Francis Montalvo; sisters, Hilda Santillana and Gracie Montalvo; and brother, Oscar Montalvo.
Israel was best known for his loving nature, his handy skills as a mechanic, and his lively sense of humor that could light up any room.
He was a loving father to his daughter, Diane DeLeon, and his son, Israel Montalvo III. He was also a proud father-in-law to Allan DeLeon IV. His grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye, will always remember their grandfather's warm hugs, infectious laughter, and the wisdom he imparted to them. Outside of work, Israel was an avid fisher. He found great peace and joy in the simple act of casting a line into the water and waiting for a catch. His love for fishing was only surpassed by his love for his family. Israel was also survived by his sister, Esmeralda Toro, and his brother, Raul Montalvo.
Israel’s family will receive condolences on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St., Corpus Christi, Texas, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Services will conclude that evening.
