John David "Curly" Dominguez, known to most as “Curly”, passed away on August 25, 2023, in Corpus Christi, TX. Born on April 23, 1981, John lived a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. His green eyes sparkled with joy and mischief, reflecting the vibrant spirit that defined him. His greatest achievement, he would often say, was his beautiful family, who were the center of his universe.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juan "Fish" Guerrero; his grandpa, Gonzalo Rodriguez; his uncle, Alfonso Gonzales; his brother, Ralph Gonzales; and his niece and nephews, Celeste Ray Gauna, Juan Guerrero "Gortz" and John “June bug” Alvarado.
John leaves behind his loving wife of 28 years, Becky Dominguez, who was his rock and his partner in all things. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with laughter and shared dreams. Together, they raised five sons, John David Dominguez, Jr., Jae Dominguez (Ashley), Jordan Dominguez (Aracely), Jaden “Nae Nae” Dominguez, and Jonathan Dominguez. John was also the proud father of 3 daughters, Crystal Ann Dominguez, Serina V. Meza(Joshua), and his beloved baby girl, Becky Dominguez.
His legacy will continue to live on through his mother, Lisa Guerrero; his grandma, Adelfa Guerrero; his grandchildren, Jazlynn "Yangy" Dominguez, Gazieah "bubs" Dominguez, Jordan "Googoose" Dominguez, and Naviana Martinez; his grandpa, Alfonso Gonzales; his sisters, Jessica Gonzales, Lisa Presas(Bobby), and Bonnie Roman; and his brothers, Joe Gonzales (Monica), David Dominguez(Jessica), Capone Firo, and Jesse James Firo.
John was a man of simple pleasures. He enjoyed going out to the clubs or bars for a drink, always ready to share a story or a joke. But his favorite times were those spent at home, barbecuing, and drinking with his family. Bud Light was his beer of choice, and he was known to raise a toast to the good times and the bad, always with a smile on his face and love in his heart.
John's life was a testament to the power of love and family. He was a beacon of positivity, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. His green eyes, his love for his family, and his zest for life will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
John David "Curly" Dominguez will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of his loved ones. His legacy of love, laughter, and family will continue to inspire and guide us. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his life, remembering the joy he brought into our lives and the love he shared with us all.
