John Riojas Obituary

John Paul Riojas, affectionately known as John Paul, was born on June 29, 1989, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and left us too soon on September 20, 2023, in the same city he loved and called home. John Paul was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who lived his life with a heart full of love, a generous spirit, and an infectious sense of humor that always brought a smile to everyone's face.

John Paul was preceded in death by his father, Pablo Fuentes, and his grandparents. He is survived by his loving mother, Jovita Riojas, and his cherished siblings Anita Riojas (Sandra Aguilar), Robert Riojas (Lupe), Adolfo Riojas (Monica), Pauline Jimenez (Jimmy Lee), Laura Timberlake (Joe), Eric Fuentes (Kelsey), Jessica Lopez, Ruby Riojas (Jericho), and April Davis (Ruben). John Paul also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Music was a significant part of John Paul's life. As a talented musician, he played the drums and accordion with a passion that was as infectious as his laughter. He often shared his musical talents with his church, Sammy Martinez Pentecostal Church, where he uplifted spirits and brought joy through his performances. But his love for music didn't stop at playing instruments; he loved dancing as much as he loved playing. His dance moves were a common sight at family gatherings and holiday celebrations, where he was often the life of the party.

John Paul was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and took great pleasure in cheering on his favorite team. He also found solace in nature, often embarking on fishing trips and enjoying the tranquility that it brought him. Family outings were another favorite pastime of his, as he cherished spending quality time with his loved ones. His kind and loving nature made him the heart of these gatherings, and his absence will be deeply felt.

One of the most remarkable things about John Paul was his generous spirit. He was always ready to lend a hand, offer a kind word, or share a laugh. His wonderful sense of humor was a beacon of light in any situation, and his laughter was a melody that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. He was funny, loving, and kind, and these words barely scratch the surface when describing the wonderful person that he was.

John Paul's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and laughter. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who had the good fortune of knowing him. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us of the importance of love, generosity, and humor in our lives.

John Paul Riojas, a man who wore many hats - a musician, a dancer, a sports fan, a fisherman, a family man, and a friend - leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He will be remembered not just for the joy he brought to our lives but for the love he shared, the kindness he showed, and the smiles he brought to our faces. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
