Jose Liserio, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2023, in Corpus Christi, TX. Born on October 29, 1953, in Hale Center, TX, Jose was a man of strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and country.
Jose was the son of Victor Liserio and the late Maria Anita Liserio. He was a proud graduate of W.B. Ray High School, where he developed a strong sense of duty and discipline that would guide him throughout his life. Following his graduation, Jose answered the call of service and joined the Army, where he served with honor and distinction.
After his military service, Jose embarked on a fulfilling career at the Naval Base in Kingsville, TX. He dedicated 25 years of his life there, retiring as a respected Supply Supervisor. His colleagues remember him as a diligent and dependable team member who led by example.
Jose was a man of many interests and passions. He had a deep love for classic cars, often spending hours meticulously restoring and maintaining his collection. He was also an avid movie lover, with an extensive collection of films from various genres. Jose will be remembered for his sense of humor and dad jokes; his laughter will be truly missed at family gatherings.
Jose was a family man at heart. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Eulalia (Lala) Liserio, for 23 cherished years. Their love story was one of mutual respect, shared dreams, and an unbreakable bond. He is survived by his children, Alicia Liserio, Valerie Eike, Joe V. Liserio, David R. Lopez, Joe M. Lopez, and Michael A. Lozano.
In addition to his wife and children, Jose is survived by his father, Victor Liserio; his sisters, Delia Flores and Lea Ann Liserio; his grandchildren, Nicole Liserio, David R. Lopez Jr., Adrian R. Lopez, Nicholas L. Lopez, Elijah H. Lozano, Angel R. Lopez, and David V. Flores; and his great-grandchildren, Amiyah Liserio, Prince Spencer, and Kai'Ro Hicks. Each of them will remember Jose for his warm smile, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering love and support.
Jose Liserio was a beacon of light and a pillar of strength for his family, friends, and community. He lived a life of service, love, and dedication, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come. His memory will be cherished, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Jose’s family will receive condolences on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 9:30 AM until 12:00 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara at Port Ave; with a Chapel Service to begin at 12:00 PM. Services will conclude in the chapel that day.
