Luis V. Prado Jr., a beloved husband, father, brother, son, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2023, in his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on August 10, 1982, in Corpus Christi, Luis lived a life characterized by love, joy, and an unyielding spirit of generosity.
Luis is survived by his devoted mother, Janie Prado; his brothers, Daniel Gomez, Hector Gomez, and Eric Lee Prado; his sisters, Maria Sylvia Johnson, Merlinda Prado, and Cynthia Ann Rodriguez. He was a loving husband to his wife, Rosa Maria Nuñez, and a doting father to their children, Alyssa Deleon, Romeo Deleon, David Deleon, and Annie Nicole Prado. His family also extends to numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives, all of whom cherished his presence in their lives. Luis was preceded in death by his father, Luis V. Prado Sr., whose memory he honored through his actions every day.
A lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, Luis' love for sports was only surpassed by his passion for music. He was an accomplished guitar player and a devoted fan of Metallica. His guitar playing brought joy and laughter to family gatherings, and his musical talent was only matched by his vast heart and caring nature. Hardworking and dedicated, Luis' commitment to his work was a testament to his strong character.
Luis was a man of many words, but three that best describe him are loving, funny, and friendly. His infectious laughter and warm personality made him a joy to be around. He had a way of making everyone feel special and loved. His big heart and kindness were evident in every interaction, making him a cherished figure in his community.
Everyone loved Luis, not just for his humor and friendly demeanor, but for his genuine care and concern for those around him. His big heart made him a beacon of light in the lives of many, and his memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who had the privilege of knowing him.
In his 41 years, Luis V. Prado Jr. lived a life filled with love, laughter, and music. His memory will forever echo in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. While his physical presence will be greatly missed, his spirit will continue to resonate, reminding us all to live with kindness, humor, and love.
Luis’ family will receive condolences on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. at Port Ave. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM followed by Liturgy of the Word at 6:30 PM. Services will conclude in the chapel.
