Maria (Cardenas) Morgan

Maria Morgan passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at the age of 84 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on August 15, 1936 to Felipe and Catarina Cardenas.

Maria was a very good friend; but more than that, family. She became known as a mother, grandmother, and a great-grandmother figure to the Vasquez/Perez family. Maria was a Surgical nurse for 27 years at Alice P&S Hospital, and then later a provider for 28 years. She retired at the age of 75. Maria was a blessing to the Vasquez/Perez family for over 27 years. She took care of Sylvia’s parents until they passed on. Maria was also the nanny to Felisha’s son, Masen, and daughter, Avery. Maria was a beautiful lady with a loving heart. Her smile would light up a room. She was a joker, always happy.  Maria enjoyed going to church on Sundays and reading the Bible . She was a member of the Central Revival Church for the last seven years.  We will always remember and cherish the wonderful memories created with Maria. She will be missed and never forgotten. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Catarina Cardenas.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her friends, Sylvia and Joe Vasquez; Sylvia’s daughter, Felisha Chavarria (Rolando Guerra III); and the most precious grandchildren per Maria, Masen Chavarria and Avery Canales.

A memorial will be scheduled at a later dated.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
