Oscar C. Liñan passed away on June 5, 2021 at the age of 77. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed riding his Harley in the states of Texas and Kansas. Oscar loved his food, especially potato salad, conchitas, and fideo. He also enjoyed going to Las Vegas, spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He will be missed by all whom knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel Garza Liñan and Manuela Castellano Liñan; siblings, Olivia Jimenez, Felicitas Jimenez, Miguel Liñan Jr, and Lionel Liñan.
Oscar is survived by his wife of 15 years, Angelita Hinojosa Liñan; children, Oscar Liñan, Joseph C. (Geneva) Liñan, and April R. Liñan; nine grandchildren; siblings, Homero Liñan and Oralia Handy; mother-in-law, Odelia Atkinson Hinojosa; sisters-in-law, Maria Hinojosa Vela, Diana Perez, Ana Martinez, and Alicia Rodriguez; brothers -in-law, Victor Hinojosa, Frank Hinojosa, Mario Hinojosa, Gilbert Hinojosa, Jose Hinojosa, and Daniel Hinojosa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive condolences on Thursday, June 10, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. On Friday, June 11, 2021, a chapel service will be held at 8:30 AM at Treviño Funeral Home. Rite of Committal and Interment with full military honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
Honoring him as pallbearers will be Oscar Liñan Jr, Joseph Cody Liñan, Jay Garcia, Joshua Martinez, Christian Pantoja, and Daniel Rios.
Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
