Ponciano Trevino, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on March 1, 2023, at the age of 86. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ponciano and Aurora Trevino, Sr., and his sisters, Cipriana Macias, Olga Cortez, and Clarita Peña.
Ponciano was a proud U.S. Marine and served during the Korean War conflict. He loved his country and his family. Ponciano enjoyed dancing and listening to music and watching NFL football, Western movies, and novelas. He loved his grandsons and great- grandchildren. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family; always helping all of us. He was a family man that adored his grandchildren and sisters. He will truly be missed.
Left behind to cherish Ponciano’s memories are his daughter, Patricia Trevino-Vela; sisters, Dolores Villafuerte and Leonor Nunez; grandchildren, Johnny Vela (Vanessa Rivera Vela) and Marcus Vela (Cassie Johnson Vela); great-grandchildren, Lillian J. Vela, Jon K. Vela, Alijah Puebla, and Deacon S. Vela; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive condolences on Monday, March 13, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave.; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 8:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 9:00 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
