Raul Martinez

Our beloved Raul Martinez died peacefully after fighting a long battle with cancer in his home Sunday afternoon, February 7, 2021, with his wife of 36 years, Thelma Lopez Martinez, by his side. Raul, who was a Marine Corp veteran, worked numerous years as an oil field pole truck driver. He enjoyed family gatherings, barbecuing, riding his motorcycles, fishing, camping, and the company of his dogs.

Raul is preceded in death by his parents, Enemencio Martinez and Celia Torres Parker, and in-laws, Mateo and Esperanza Lopez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Thelma Lopez Martinez; siblings, Sandra Martinez Arriola, Byrdi Gonzalez (Joey A.), Roy Parker (Mary) and Melissa Parker (Jay Falcon);  numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, February 11, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St, Alice, Texas; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 12, 2021, at 2:00 PM at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church with Rite of Committal and Interment following at San Jose Cemetery.

Honoring Raul as pallbearers will be Ryan Parker, Roy Parker, Jr., Rick Adam Gonzalez, Bryn Mykle Gomez, Hector Javier Garcia, and Rogelio Hernandez, III.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
