Raul Pena, Sr

Raul Pena Sr., passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at the age of 75 in San Diego, Texas.  

Raul was a hard working man who provided for his family and made sure they had everything they needed. He was an oilfield crew supervisor for Rex Maintenance Services of Freer, Texas and was also a ranch hand for Welder Ranch for many years. He had a nice sense of humor, enjoyed BBQueing, music, and dancing. He was the best father any child could ask for; he guided and advised us to be hardworking, respectable, and to keep our word of honor.  Raul enjoyed gatherings with family and friends and he was a great cook. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Raynaldo Raul Pena; his mother, Rosa Garza; his step-father, Macario Garza Sr.; his son, Raul Pena Jr.; step-son, Rene Adrian Gonzalez; and his brothers, Macario Garza Jr. and Ricardo Garza.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his son, Reynaldo Raul (Erica) Pena; daughters, Rosemary (Gabriel) Sanchez, Erika Pena,  and Rachel (Joe) Aguillon; stepsons, Roberto Salinas and  Ricardo Villarreal; sisters, Teresa Gonzalez, Elisa (Mando) Garcia, Estella (Alejandro) Narvaiz, and Esmeralda (Diego) Pena; brother, Encarnacion (Alejandra) Garza; a nephew that he raised as his own, Ricardo “Beto” Gonzalez; his niece, Gracie Gonzalez; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial will be scheduled at a later date.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
