Rene Sylvester Hernandez

Rene Sylvester “Silver” Hernandez passed away on April 9, 2023, at the age of 30. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rene loved cooking, fishing, hunting, and dancing. He was always able to make everyone laugh by telling jokes. Rene loved the Dallas Cowboys and looked forward to watching the games. He loved his family dearly and cared for all of them.

Rene is preceded in death by his great-grandma, Cecelia Saenz; grandparents, Maria and Willis Sylvester Terrell; grandma, Zulema Flores; grandpa, Oscar Hernandez; and grandparents, Elsa and Amado Sanchez.

Left to cherish his memories are his common law wife, Lisa Martinez; parents, Rene and Romanita Hernandez; daughter, Adelyn Renee Hernandez; siblings, Ashley (Albert Hinojosa) Hernandez, Leeann Hernandez, Marian (Devin Martinez) Hernandez, and Oscar (Daniella Rae Arroyos) Hernandez; brothers-in-law, Joe Galvan, Philip Martinez, and Ferny Martinez; niece, Jalynn Grace Galvan; nephew, Joe Galvan Jr.; great-grandpa, Thomas Saenz Jr., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Trevino Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St., Alice, Texas, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 11:30 AM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 12:30 PM for a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 1:00 PM. Services will conclude at the church and burial will follow at a later date.
