Roberto G. Tamez

Roberto G. Tamez, 90, of Corpus Christi, Texas, was born in Raymondville, Texas, on January 09, 1932. He was married to Rosita D. Tamez on May 15, 1955. Our beloved father went to be with the Lord on May 09, 2022. Roberto worked at Seagraves Co-op Gin for sixteen years as a ginner and CCAD/ NAS for nine years as a groundskeeper. He had a passion for fishing and gardening.

Roberto is preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Tamez; his mother, Conception Tamez; and his sister, Josephina Sanchez.

Roberto is survived by his wife, Rosita D. Tamez, of 67 years; his children, Robert Tamez, Jr., Octaviano “Tavo” Najera (Mary Najera), Ninfa Kelly (Elizabeth Myers), Benjamin Tamez, Irma Garcia (Robert Garcia), and Corina T. Wells (Robert J. Wells, Jr.); his grandchildren, Jeremy Marin, Eric B. Tamez (Chelsea Tamez), Dane A. Tamez, Debra M. Kelly, Norman R. Kelly, Elise S. Tamez, Stephen A. Garcia (Emerald Garcia), Cierra A. Tamez, and Chelsea N. St. Mary; his siblings, Paula Zamarripas, Rogelio Tamez (Juanita Tamez), and Elvira Reyna; six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, May 15, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave; with a Prayer Service to be recited at 6:00 PM. A Chapel Service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Treviño Funeral Home. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 12:30 PM to Rose Hill Memorial Park for the Rite of Committal and Interment.
