Nelda Rodriguez

Nelda Estella Rodriguez, born to Rene and Elodia L. Hinojosa on October 8, 1950 in Benavidez, TX, passed away on November 16, 2018 at the age of 68. Nelda will be remembered as a loving sister, wife, and mother with a calming spirit. She treasured being surrounded by and spoiling her beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to bake and was best known by her family for her delicious pan de polvo. Nelda fought a hard battle until the end and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Nelda is proceeded in death by her loving husband, Tomas Rodriguez Sr.; parents, Rene and Elodia Hinojosa; brother. Richard Hinojosa; sister, Nora Ramirez; and father and mother-in-law, Teodoro and San Juana Rodriguez.

Nelda is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia Hernandez (Adriel); sons, Tomas Rodriguez Jr. (Marisa), Rene Rodriguez, and Johnny Rodriguez; sisters, Alejandra Lopez (Guadalupe), Yolanda Butler (Jack Jr.), Idolina “Kookie” Gutierrez, and Norma Rodas; brother, Diego Hinojosa; brother-in-law, Roberto Ramirez; grandchildren, Celest N. Aguirre, Gilbert Aguirre III, A.J. Hernandez, and Justin Hernandez; great grandchildren, Milabela Garza and Greyson D. Hinojosa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St. Alice, TX; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home on Monday, November 19, 2018, at 9:30 AM to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at New Collins Cemetery in Alice, TX.
